Fun Food ProgramFun Food is a 6 week nutrition and physical play based program for children over 2 - 10 years.
This program has been specifically designed for early years education to ensure service providers are meeting the NQSF and the Early Years Learning Framework, however extension activities and greater development of core concepts makes it suitable for children in lower primary school. Sessions can also be delivered in isolation or tailored to support specific learning and cross curriculum objectives. Fun Food is designed to utilise a peer role modelling environment to allow young children exposure and access to a range of foods and food experiences, which guide familiarity, acceptance and preference for healthy food choices. This program focuses on fundamental food literacy skills which include food safety and hygiene, basic nutrition and food production concepts including growing food, the social, cultural and emotional context of food choice and meal patterns, and basic food preparation and cooking skills. Physical play activities focus on both fine and gross motor skills, development of co-ordination,balance and fundamental movement skills. For more information contact The Kids Menu |
